I have had a saturation biopsy which did not detect my cancer. I then had the TURP procedure. This was done in the hospital and I stayed one night and had to wear a catheter for a few days. It was a larger catheter than I wore later after my RP. However the TURP procedure did find my cancer. It was a gleason 9. The biopsy was taken inside near the urethra. So the TURP may be needed in some cases like mine. Hope this helps. Good luck to all, we need it facing prostate cancer.
