Though Israel is not in the running for many medals in the up coming Olympics, one of our hopes lies in one of the yatching events. The young man in who has all ready an Olympic medal is more than likely to be banded foe the Bejing Games. The reason is that he was given Proscar (Finastaride) to prevent him going bald. Apperently there is some substance in Proscar that is not allowed by the Olympic antidrug squad.
So be warned all of you who might be using Finastaride to prevent baldness or PCa and are competing sports men

Shalom,
Just read the following:
9. Israeli company, BioControl Medical, sold its first electrical stimulator to treat urinary incontinence to a US company for $50 Million. Now, it is working on CardioFit, which uses electrical nerve stimulation to treat congestive heart failure. With nearly five million Americans presently affected by heart failure, and more than 400,000 new cases diagnosed yearly, the CardioFit is already generating a great deal of excitement as the first device with the potential to halt this deadly disease.
Does anyone in Israel now know anything about this/

My wife and I attended a fund-raising dinner in Vancouver BC on April 13th. The dinner honoured Dr. Larry Goldenberg. Funds raised, (over $2 million) are split between Canadian Friends of Hebrew University and Vancouver General Hospital University of BC Hospital Foundation. I understand that the CFHU funds are going to help fund the Hebrew University new Institute for Medical Research. On another note, a friend in Israel recently had brachy there and so far is pleased with results.

Since more Israelis come here for treatment does this mean we are ahead in the field and they cannot get the same care? Maybe we need some kind of exchange program to educate.

Shalom Y'all!!!
I am proud to be the 3rd member of the site. I live in Miami and have for many years served as a resource to the Israeli health system and the expatriate community in Miami about healthcare services in this amazing city.
