I discovered that I had enough skill to write a small book after I was diagnosed with PCa. Mind you what I wrote about had nothing to do with my condition. Writing became a powerful part of my healing process and I found I could "escape' from myself into a different world. There was a different reality I could touch and interact with and in.

I'm new to this site. Since I was diagnosed with prostate cancer six years ago I have read and researched everything I could find. As a medical/health writer I had a head start. I am not cured but am surviving well (surviving is always the best result). I wrote a book last year to document my up and down treatment journey, provide useful (hopefully) information, and provide a laugh or two. The book is available at www.amazon.com and titled: REAL MEN GET PROSTATE CANCER TOO. I also started a personal blog (http://axman-axman.blogspot.com/) and invite others to contribute their feelings and experiences and comment on my musings.

Hello, and we hope things are well with you and yours.
We just finished an award winining documentary on prostate cancer that led us to write an Ebook that is available for FREE. It is called, "The African-American Man's Guide To 'Cancer Proof Your Prostate.' To get if for free, just use "zero" in the cart. We wrote another ebook on "Prostate Cancer Sceening", but that is not for free at this point in time. The website is, www.ProstateCareToday.com - We hope this helps and you enjoy the ebook. Thank you.

I wrote a booklet entitled A Strange Place some years ago, aimed primarily at a South African audience, since I was living there at the time. I’m in the process of updating that and hope to re-print it shortly – the target audience for the booklet was men who are not computer literate and send their family out to garner information. The current version is at http://www.yananow.net/StrangePlace/index.html

I would say that the largest collection of what might be termed blogs are on my website – there are almost 550 of them now. These are stories of men’s experiences with prostate cancer and are kept up to date on a regular basis.

The main index – by choice of treatment is at http://www.yananow.net/Experiences.html - with subsidiary indexes ranking the stories by year of diagnosis, age at diagnosis, PSA at diagnosis and Gleason Score There is a subsidiary list on another site which groups the stories by State in the US and country elsewhere. The site has proved to be popular with newly diagnosed men, because most of the men who have shared their experiences can be conacted by e-mail.

I am a prostate cancer survivor who has been a practicing attorney for thirty-eight years. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in June of 1996 and received external beam radiation treatment from the Medical College of Georgia and seed implants from the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. In May of 1997, the Veterans Administration recognized my disability for prostate cancer as a result of Agent Orange. After successful treatment, I decided to write Get Back in the Game: An Inspirational Story of Cancer Survivors. It explores the lives of five prostate cancer patients as they experience disappointments and defeats. Most of the book takes place in Phoenix. By coming together as the RECNAC softball team, five men find the encouragement and gusto to accomplish goals that they first thought were out of reach. I hope the book conveys the idea that life begins after the treatment is over and you are able to get back to the rest of your life. My website is www.terryleiden.com and the book is available at Amazon.com or you can contact me.

I am a professional comedy writer, having written monolgue jokes for the late night TV guys and many other comedians, radio personalities and corporate leaders. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer late in 2004, had my prostate removed and learned my cancer had spread. In March of 2005, I started 18 weeks of experimental chemo and 2 years of hormone therapy. Beyond the fear of dying, so many funny things were happening that I started keeping a daily journal. Now, I have written and published a book, "I Barf, Therefore I Am: A Sensitive Comedy Writer's Relationship with Cancer" (at Amazon.com and Barnes&Noble.com and Lulu.com). The message: Stay positive, surround yourself with happiness, avoid the negative influences, enjoy every possible moment and laugh!

My blog at www.advancedprostatecancer.net is a conglomeration of ideas, experiences, cutting edge research, announcements, rantings, political analysis, inspirational thoughts, ravings and maybe sometimes a receipt about having, surviving, fighting and moving beyond cancer.

I have been keeping a blog since the time of my initial diagnosis. I'm just my personal thoughts and what I deal with as an early forty year old with Advanced PCa. It's at: http://prostatecancerat42.blogspot.com

I am currently writing a book on social media -- the use of current social tools to build communities like this one. I applaud Dr. Krongrad for building this.
