A NY Times article today states that the doctor-patient relationship "is on the rocks". Do you agree and what can we do to improve things?

Leah - I definitely agree with the article. If we had not found an excellent doctor, not just because of superior skill but due to quality relationship with his patients, we would be just another dissatisfied patient out there feeling that we had no choice but to settle for the status quo, and believing nothing better exists. I think this network is what we're doing to improve things (within the PC community). This article and the reporter were on the Today show and much of what they're talking about we have discussed in multiple conversations here over the past few months . It all comes back around to personal healthcare management, with doctors and patients being partners. I believe we are cultivating this mindset among our members here within the PC community. Now, it appears to have become a priority topic nationally.
