- I am the wife of a PCa survivor. My husband had LRP surgery in Nov. 2007 with Dr. Krongrad. My father was diagnosed with PCa in 1992 and died in 1999. I believe our experience will be beneficial to others whose lives have been impacted by PCa. I have an interest in promoting PC awareness both nationally and abroad via Prostate Cancer International, Inc.

December 18th.....I said goodbye
It's been nine years today since my Dad died of prostate cancer. Tonight as I realized again how very much I miss him, it drives me to do everything I can to help increase awareness of PCa in men and women around the world. TODAY.......My, what a difference a year can make!!
November 6th......a day that woud be etched in our hearts and minds forever. The day that changed our lives!
One year ago today, Jimmy had LRP. We had been for his pre-op appointment with Dr. Krongrad the day before - meeting him for the first time. Dr. K, Ruth and Hope had been a tremendous help and source of comfort in the nine (9) weeks since Jimmy was diagnosed. After endless research, appointments, tests, fears and uncertainty, we were ready.

I am still kicking and wanted to check in to say hi. Life has been good for me and I hope it has also been for you. Haven't had much time or didn't want to share any time with the cancer thing, but after awhile you learn that it will never go away once you contract it.
I will be posting an update on my condition. One year has passed since diagnoisis and coming up on one for surgery.
Every morning sun rise is a beautiful day. God bless and have a great day.

Biopsy went well, although I hated the Urologist on site as I felt he thought my mere presence wasn't necessary.
12 samples taken, results due back nxt week.
Sex last night was lovely!
Off topic...............one bothersome issue during the Urologists visit was the fact that all 4 of the people in the waiting room could hear every single 'click' of the machine. All the men winced at the sound and I was sick to my stomach! I wanted to say something to the receptionist, but mostly I wanted to get my Husband and get the hell out of there! I don't know if it was a poorly designed office or sound proofing is needed????
Should I put my concerns in writing or let it go?

Just a quick question as to how soon after biopsy you should wait for intercourse?
My Husband is rearing to go, but I am concerned about infection?

- Hi Angela, Thank you so much for your reply and info...I haven't checked out the links yet, but will. My husband is 68 and his PSA has been going up pretty steadily for the last yr or so...up to 7.1 now and the free PSA is low, which is bad...I don't have the exact figure for that. That's about all we know. He is scheduled for biopsy through the VA on the 24th of this month.... Trying to figure out if PCA3 is worthwhile and if so, where to get it...other than 5 hrs away by car.
Any help with where to go and what to do, would be helpful. Take care, Donna

- Hi Angela, thanks for reaching out. My friend is scheduled for surgery to remove the protstate later this month. He just lost his dad last month to cancer that started as prostate cancer several years ago and then went into remission untl this year and it had spread unfortunately throughout his body. He's been dealing with a lot, but I will encourage him to join this group. I have not been able to reach Patrick. Del Mancuso said… - Unfortunately, after I made that decision- I have gained a considerable amount of knowledge about Tomo Radiation. From what I have recently learned the Tomo technology is far advanced over both IMRT & IGRT. Now my task is to determine how to unwind my present IGRT and search out the best location to obtain Tomo. Appreciate any ideas. Thanks Del
