Now my partner for the last 10 years is going to have serious back surgery so I wouldn't need anything for awhile. I'm just happy to be alive and as far as my PSA - oh well - what can you do?! I'm not going to worry about it if I can help it. My research produced answers all over the board on a PSA rise after surgery.

- Burt - still no response from my little head but it got used a lot when I was younger so I'm not too sad. My psa went from .05 to .11 though and that has me a little worried but I'll take it day by day and try not to worry about it. Next PSA test is in January.

- I haven't tried the Levitra yet so I'll have to ask my doctor about that. It's just over a year now, is that too soon?

Until recently prostate cancer awareness was hardly pushed. For the last seven years I have been very active in trying to do something about. At the moment there are only two support groups in the country, one in Tel Aviv and the other I started six years ago in Haifa. Three years ago together with a group of doctors I was involved in putting pressure on the Israeli Cancer Ass. to fall in withe rest of the world and designate September for PCa. Recently we decided to set up a non profit organisation not only to further PCa awarenes, but also to establish a support net work and support groups as well as a hot line.

Michael Burke, MD said… - Thank you for the comments. I think that the loss of anything can create a focus on that issue. People want the freedom to choose and when a loss takes that freedom it creates disease burden. In addition, something as powerful as sexual activity is desired even if it is infrequent. I don't eat steak too often but if I was told that I wasn't going to have one for the next three years I would be dreaming of killing a cow with my pen. I am glad that you have found a pattern for Levitra effectiveness.
Humor is one of the most powerful and healthy coping mechanisms. It has been found to be helpful in adaptive coping in many studies. Glad to see you found that too.

- Diagnosed June 2004 in AZ. No one doing lap or Da Vinci in AZ at that time. Had lap in Aug, 2004 Dr. Krongrad. Was PSA <0.1 till three months ago, then went to 0.2. Will re test soon.
Am a dental surgeon so am familiar with research and how it feels to be a pateint now.
Was incontinent for 8 monhts, ED for 3 years; now occasional stress incontinence and Levitra works 8/10 times.
Married, two singel daughers. Still working, age 66
