Thanks for your input. All information is appreciated. At this point I am leaning towards the surgery route. If there is a contained cancer in my body, I want it out. At this moment I am waiting for a second opinion on the reading of my slides (biopsy). There have been cases where errors have been made due to the fact that some tings that are actually benign are known to mimic cancers.

Hi Don
I found your log very interesting. Were you treated at the Proton center at the Univ of FL at Jacksonville? We are located about 500 miles from there, from a location stand point, it may be a viable option. I will be 72 in Nov, in reading your log I was wondering, what age group you are in? As I read through treatment information, sometimes age seems to be a factor.
Thanks,
Del

Don

Thanks for your email. What an ordeal you have been through!

You certainly did an excellent job of educating yourself and sorting through
your options.

If my PSA continues to go up (I'll be checking it at the very least every 3 months, maybe, for the next few months, every month), I honestly don't know what I will do.

I have such skepticism with respect to the "business" of medical prostate treatment, that I am loathe to embark on such a difficult course of treatment as you have done.

At any rate, time will tell.

I can just cross my fingers and hope that my PSA increase is due to benign
causes.

All the best, and thanks again for sharing your experiences with me!

Hi Don,
Welcome to the web site. Can you give us some more information about your proton radiation, and perhaps some details on your cancer such as When diagnosed, biopsy cores, Gleason, PSA when diagnosed ,etc. This would make it easier to share. Check my picture and find out about me. There are lots of friends, support and information availabe here. Good to have you join. Will check back with you. George
