Profile Information

Have you been diagnosed with prostate cancer?
yes
What brings you to the New Prostate Cancer InfoLink social network?
Just thought I would check in.
Would you help us grow the network? Would you tell others about it?
Yes
About Me:
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer at age 48. Gleson score 3+3. PSA 3.9+/-
AK successfully removed the prostate July 06 using LRP.
I have had followup PSA's and all have so far been "non-detectable".
I am curious about 3-D mapping of the prostate and the biopsey cores treated using the freezing (cryo) method of just those areas. Mike Landes Ch. 7 TV news, Denver has undergone this treatment and has spoken about it on the air as well as on his website. This was done at the University hospitol.

hey. Doug how are you? .. nope i dont think its possible for me to have prostate cancer :) thanks for pointing it out.. i did put no as the answer to that question but i'm not exactly sure what happened there. I'm in 4th year medical school n it takes 5 years to complete but i am not sure what i wish to specialise in quite yet. We are getting experience in most of the feilds so i think by the time i graduate i will decide what i enjoy the most.

Hi Doug. Yes, we had a 5-day working Trip to Trinidad. A number of students have now taken interest in prostate cancer and a few have joined our network. This is good news. They are tomorrow's doctors and this gives us a chance to educate them. No generaration of students has had a mechanism like this for meeting patients, doctors from all over the world. This is important. See the Very Primary Case Study Mike posted just for the students. Take care. AK

You are not alone. Men who undergo treatment for prostate cancer often fear they will be unable to resume sexual activity. Although you may be experiencing ED now, there are possibilities.
In addition you may be struggling with the cascade of psychological issues that occur secondary to diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer.
Certainly sexuality remains important to your quality of life. I encourage you to seek treatment by a professional who specializes in this area.

Thanks,
