So Glen ... Thanks for the addition info. I have used these datas to "run your numbers" through the Kattan preoperative nomogram.

According to the nomogram you have:

-- An 89% probability of organ-confined disease
-- A 94% probability of progression-free survival at 10 years after radical prostatectomy
-- A 91% probability of progression-free survival at 5 years after brachytherapy

You can use these numbers to talk to your doctor about your decisions. You certainloy have time to make the decision you are most comfortable with.

Glen,
Welcome to the club wants to join. Looking over your info. The number of cores positive would be helpful to know when exchanging info. It is really not all doom and glood so try to keep your spirits up during these first confusing weeks.

Hi Glenn. It would help if you could add two pieces of important info to you profile below: (1) your Gleason score, e.g., 3 + 3 = 6 and (2) the total number of biopsy cores taken and how many of them were positive for prostate cancer.

You look like you probably have early stage, low risk disease, but the Gleason score and the biopsu data will help to confirm this.

Glenn - welcome to the network! This is an excellent site for current, valid information, as well as support and hope from others who have been on this journey for a while. Since you've just been diagnosed, you should check out our "newly diagnosed" section on the main site - great information, simple format, easy to understand. Take a look around at the various groups and discussions, and join any that interest you. If you have any questions, just let us know and we'll be glad to help you find some answers. Thanks for joining us.

Hi Glenn,
Sorry about the diagnoses. Please add as much info to your profile as you have concerning your PCa and the bioposy. In this way we can interact and give you some better data as to your treatment and disease. Thanks. George
