About Me:
In learning and development of pharma industry:
diagnosed 7 years ago with a gleason at 9 and invasion of the nerves. Then over the years: radical prostatectomy; followed by radiotetherapy; ADT Zoladex implants; then Casodex with Zoldaex; PSA rising gradually to over 500: metastasis in many lymph nodes but not in bones; one lymph node blocked the outlet from the kidney, this was resolved by a pig tail (tube) and further radiotherapy of enlarged lymph nodes, PSA now down to 175; now metastasis have been found in bladder, liver, vertebrae, ribs:
So I am starting chermotherapy with Texatere and hopr fopr the best with the help of lots of mindfullness meditation and friends

Jean-Jacques,
Thanks for your reply. As Keith suggested your images are truly inspirational .. keep them coming. I had a Gleason 9 and 2 positive nodes but no evidence of distant mets in my pathology report after my RRP. These numbers were my ticket into this trial.
Basically the protocal calls for an infusion of a radiopharmaceutical which battles bone mets followed 12 weeks later by conventional radiation to the prostate bed. I've had the infusion and my PSA did not retreat so the thinking is that the cancer is somewhat still confined to the bed. I have no idea at this point what twists my story will take Jean-Jacques. I truly hope that you do not fall victim to despair. New roads abound here.
Keep in touch

"Resistance training" is just another terms for things like weight lifting. In other words it is strength and flexibility training rather than aerobic exercise like bicycling or running>

Hi J-J: The advice was resistance and weight training, so my only cardio at the moment is riding my bike 2 miles each way to the gym. The trainer taught me lots of different low impact stretches on a 65 cm exercise ball--do about 20 minutes of core ab & glutes stuff. Usually its 2X 15 reps of each exercise. Then 20 minutes of arms (biceps/ triceps), shoulders & legs (quads, mostly) on the machines. Finish up with 3X static 'bridge' on my elbows --have worked up from 15 seconds to almost 40 seconds. I vary the sequence thru the week. I am not a fan of free weights although I should probably start adding some stuff. So far, not too much muscle loss and of course it's a struggle to not gain weight on ADT, although I need to lose at least 20 lbs--& should lose more.

Of course...For myself, the emotions I went through initially at time of the "news" was Fear, Hopelessness, Confusion, Lonlines, Mad, Scared, Guilt...etc. After researching and talking to my husband about my emotions, I felt relieved that he was including me in all of the doctor appointments, his emotions, and most important we stayed close as husband and wife and our friendship as well grew stronger. The guilt came due to marital issues we were having and we were going through marriage counseling to deal with those issues....I believe in my heart that this was God's way of opeining up our eyes...I don't blame God for any health issues or crisis, My belief is that God doesn't give more than we can handle and with him by our side all will work itself out. I am not sure if you agree with me on this, but I my beliefs is what got me through it all and I am still going through an emotional time. I do have my days where I can't believe all of this is going on and I just cry myself to sanity and keep on going.
