There is definitely shrinkage. The VED used early on will help prevent it. I started on Viagra 50mg per day after the catheter was out and did the VED everyday. It should be part of your rehab program. I am 18mos. out and the shrinkage is minimal. I…

I get my Bi-mix from Franck's pharmacy. They ship anywhere in the U.S. Their number is 800-622-4510. There are also other pharmacies online that ship. Hope that helps.

Most good uro's will prescribe either Bi-mix or Tri-mix without a problem. My Uro had me on daily Viagra after the catheter came out. he also had me use the VED daily. I went on Bi-mix approx 3 months after surgery and have used it ever since(18 mos…

Mike S wrote a glowing report about Prostasol. The decline in PSA, if attributable to nothing else, was likely the result of the undisclosed diethylstilbestrol (synthestic estrogen) in the stuff. This was reported by Danish medical authorities in N…

Joe, The same thing happened to me. My PSA was 41 at diagnosis. After the prostotechtomy, it was undetectable but about six months later, it was at 0.2. I tried about 40 different supplements but my PSA kept rising. When it hit 15, I learned about P…

Joe - how did your doctor's appointment go today?

Hi Joe,
Yes it has been a long time since we spoke. Life has been kicking me in the ass for a while, but I guess I have been fighting back and hopefully I am on the good dide of things again. I had a heart stent put in in May, two weeks before I was to run the 100 M and 200 M in the senior games. Bummer as i would have won 4 gold medals. They put me in cardio rehab for 6 months and made me take baby steps again. Gained 28 pounds in playing their games. I was a unpopular candidate but I graduated and now am back on my own training again. Starting all over again at the Summit Cancer exercising program. I lost my job, they tried to forclosure on my house, my wife walked out and I hit the bottom of the depression pit. Got my house out of forclosure and found a part time job. Starting to feel better and rebuild. Because of my lousey health the doc finally took me off the hormone treatments after 14 months. My libito came roaring back but the testosterone is still at 31. I am volunteering for testosterone shots. Hope it doesn't feed the cancer but there is some new studies that seem to favoror them. I WANT MY TESTOSTERONE BACK RIGHT NOW. The hormone treatments almost killed me. This is the best our doctors can do for men with prostate cancer. Chemically castrate us. That is unacceptable treatment. They were doing this 50 years ago. Now with billions in reasearch funds they have not come up with anything better. What a joke. We need some new scientiests with some new ideas. Joe I hope you are hanging in there and doing great. Please keep in contact as I am on the mend and beginning a new crusade again. Climbing out of the depression pit. Setting my self on fire again. Love ya George

Hi Joe,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Everyday --- one less to go. The bowels will act up some so keep the doc informed when changes occur so they can adjust some of the over the counter medicine. You will find that they get sort of "Lucy" as you progress so don't get allarmed. I found that if you increase the exercise the treatment are easier to take. Keep me updated please. I am dealing with a gas problem some 8 months later but keep adjusting the prune juice etc. See ya Joe. George

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the update. Sounds like you got a great Rad Doc. with a good plan. Let me know for sure the day you start so I can count down with you. I had IMRT which ended with 33 session in November 08. Actually, they are relaxing and the Rad Tecs are great people. About 1/3 through I started to have burning urin and they gave me some "Iodine" like pills that cured it but stained my underwear orange (nasty color to wash out) Then some diarrhea which Imodem worked fine. After it was over I had a period where I had what I called explosive bowel disorder which meant "find a toilet quick" Then a few months with Citracell, then prune juice for now. It is OK right now, somewhat different bowel movement feeling, but ok. Knocked the PCa for a loop. You are going to do great. Keep in touch for sure. Your friend George

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the update. You are making the right moves in contacting your Rad Doc. Let me know what he says at your consultation. It is best to nip things in the bud as early as you can. Do you think he shall recomend hormone treatment? I shall keep you in my thoughts and you just need to conteract to whatever is presented to you. You got my support and my strength and encouragement Joe. Please, keep me in the loop. Thanks George

Joe - I noticed your post to George. Sorry to hear about the recent test score. There are many options for treatment, so don't despair. Most of all through all of this, try to keep a positive attitude - it really does help. And look for the great things in your life to be thankful for. Please keep us updated and let us know how you're doing.

Joe,
Usually the controling test is the PSA test. So ...when you check your PSA it should tell you if the cancer has a foothold or not. The Rad Doc. seems to know what is going on. Hang in there and keep me posted on the PSA. Take care. George

Hi Joe,
I think you are making some really well informed decisions, and just keep looking at options. It is good you are checking out the Rad Doc for possible future refrence. Joe, please keep me informed and wishing the best for you.
George.

Hi Joe, I had surgery in May of 07 and last December my PSA went to .11 then down to .1 in Jan. Just had it tested again and it is .07. Mayo Clinic stated not to worry about it because they consider it indetectable until it reaches .4
Good Luck - Rick Johnson
