I think it is unlikely that the DES has "fueled" your husband's cancer. What I think is more likely is that the DES simply delayed (for a short time) a relatively rapid and progressive rise in your husband's PSA.

When ADT failed my PSA went to 3.4. Since starting Ketoconazole three months ago it has been more or less halved on every visit - last Thursday it was 0.41.
