- I am a Kenyan woman a mother of three grown daughters and a widow. I am a psychological Counselor trained and certified. My concern in this issue is that a lot of our men suffer from prostrate cancer and are not aware until is too late. I would love to educate and save the African man.

Thanks alot.Though you have identified those areas,i believe there are many rural areas with high prostrate cancer cases,and due to poverty,ignorance and lack of medical check up,most people don't know or lack awareness of what to do.
We need to do a research and see how far we can assist with the Picai initiative.

1. All over the world there are people who claim they can "cure" AIDS and HIV. I don't believe a word of it.
2. Infrared radiation may be able to ameliorate the symptoms of prostatitis, but I would be very surprised if it could cure the disorder.
3. People tend to be foolish and will use treatments that don't work just because someone tells them that they do. In Europe and America and similar countries, marketing drugs that don't work is not legal. Unfortunately, most countries in Africa do not (yet) have sufficiently strong regulatory agencies to prevent this from happening, and there are people who make a lot of money from selling these drugs that don't work.

Rubella or "German measles" is a virus infection that can lead to all sorts of problems in children, including, I believe, mental retardation. I am not aware of anything that can be done to "repair" this problem afterwards. However, I am absolutely NOT an expert on this topic!
In Europe and America today, almost all children are vaccinated against German measles as very young children today, to prevent the onset of this infection.
I got your other e-mail about the doctor, and I will reply to it as soon as I can.

The doctors are always a little suspicious about patient advocates in the beginning, but if the good doctor has already agreed to introduce you to the other prostate cancer specialists, then you must have make a great impression. I have left a message for Dr. Ngugi already.
I see Angela has already e-mailed you about the other matter.
If you get the chance, feel free to let me know how the "old man" was treating men with urinary tract problems, but don't go out of your way. You've got plenty on your plate already!
