Patrick - whatcha up to dude?? You're not hanging around these parts much these days. Keith Seago is trying to reach you. Give him a call on his cell 561.212.7711 when you get a chance. Let me know what you've been doing lately.

Hey buddy! Things are very busy here. Headed to LA next week for the PCRI conference. We'll do more of the "Let's Talk" interviews to be posted on You Tube and our sites. Then in October, will be attending Virgil Simons conference and video taping more interviews. Best to you on the marathon!!! If you ever get up this way, give me a buzz. We'd love to see you again. How's life with you these days?
Be well. Keep spreading the word!!! Blessings, my friend!

Hi Patrick,
It was a wonderful blessing to meet you this weekend. The Open Conversation had some real highlights, and meeting so many was one of them. I wish you peace and many blessings ahead.

And by the way, my training definitely added in my quick recovery! Also, your article was in the Ocala Star Banner last week with your picture.

Hey Patrick, Thanks for the ping back! I can't beleive our surgeries were only 5 days apart. I totally agree on the frustration with folks saying this is a slow growing disease. To me that minimizes the fact that its cancer and at anytime could flake off and travel somewhere else in the body. If guys were to get proactive screening when they are younger then we could save a lot of lives! Thanks again for your post back!

Patrick:

(1) I have left Darren a message to also contact Mary Lynn Potenteau at the Prostate Cancer Mission and to see if he can join us at the Open Conversation in May.

(2) In view of the two studies about prostate cancer screening just published in the New England Journal of Medicine yesterday, you might want to have a look at what I have written about them on the main site.

Hi Patrick,

My name is Darren Ritch and I am a prostate cancer survivor. I was diagnosed last year at age 41 and had robotic radical prostatectomy on June 30th, 2008. I am cancer free now and my cancer was found with the DRE and not PSA. I read your article in my local newspaper and loved what you are doing. I personally created a blog, www.darrenritch.blogspot.com , and blogged my entire experience. I have used it to create awareness and did a magazine article for a local magazine and interview with the Prostate Cancer Foundation. I am also training for a triathlon in April and am raising money for Athletes for a Cure which is part of the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Its so great to see others out evangelizing and creating awareness around this disease. Proactive screening is so important. I look forward to meeting you someday and wanted to thank you for all the wonderful work your doing in helping others!

Darren Ritch
