Hi, Dennis, I was sorry to hear your bad news about your elevated Gleason score. But as a two-year RALRP survivor, I can tell you my recovery following a Gleason 6, was quick and easy, as it is for most robotic surgery patients. My quarterly and ...

Profile Information

Have you been diagnosed with prostate cancer?
yes
What brings you to the New Prostate Cancer InfoLink social network?
I'm a prostate cancer survivor since robotic surgery in April 2007 and I've written a book on the subject. This issue is now a passionate subject for me.
Would you help us grow the network? Would you tell others about it?
Yes, I will be happy to create a link to your site on my new prostate blog. www.ConquerProstateCancer.com. I also would like to inquire about your reciprocal links to my new blog. Could you contact me at my blog?
About Me:
I am a prostate cancer survivor and an ordained rabbi with a doctoral degree in gerontology, and I live with my family in Sarasota, Florida. In my 30 years as a congregational rabbi and chaplain, I often counseled people faced with serious illness.

Following my successful robotic surgery for prostate cancer in April, 2007, I was moved to share my experience by writing CONQUER PROSTATE CANCER: How Medicine, Faith, Love and Sex Can Renew Your Life (September, 2008).

Like my book, my site is an extension of my life's work, reaching out to people who seek support and guidance. Also contributing to my site are Robert Carey, M.D., Ph.D., who is a robotic surgeon at the Urology Treatment Center of Sarasota, Florida, and David Kauder, M.D., formerly managing partner for one of the largest urology practices in Massachusetts.

I work daily at enhancing my web site, which like my book is a physical, emotional and spiritual guide for fellow prostate cancer patients and survivors and those who love them. Our goal is to let you know that you’re not alone in the struggle to overcome prostate cancer and enhance your daily life.

Thank you.

Hello
I received a notice from my surgeon's (Dr Andrew Wagner) office that you and he will be speaking at a couple of awareness events in the Boston area. I wanted to say hello and also mention that my experience with Dr Wagner has been very positive. My recovery's been extremely smooth and his doctor-patient interpersonal skills are terriffic. I would highly recommend him.

Hi Rav
For more than 12 years of seeking info, I feel that this is one of the better sites on the web. So many forums and lists concentrate on scientific explanations that the normal run in the mill person is lost and in many cases frustrated. It is different here where every one's needs can be met. Baruch Aba.
I would like to contact you directly. My email is;lenny.hrsch@gmail.com. Look at the Israeli Group to get an idea of what I am trying to do here

Hi Rabbi Ed. You are in full control of where you put links from this site to your site. We ask only that the links be relevant rather than "promotional" in nature. Thanks for the link from your site.

Sure - if you look at the word "profile" at the top of your dialogue, to the right is a button that says "edit". Just click that and you'll be able to go back into what you wrote and delete or add anything you'd like. Let me know if you have any problems editing it.

Rabbi Ed - Welcome to the Network! Like so many of us that have been diagnosed and treated for PC, this has become our passion as well. Take a look around at the groups and discussions and join any that may be of interest to you - particulary the Faith and Healing Group. We look forward to you input.
