- My husband, 45 years old, was dignosticated in october 2005 for advanced prostate cancer. He started with a PSA 270, Gleason 9 and a lot of metasthasis in bones. He started with Casodex+zoladez+Zometa. Fortunately he hasn´t pain. In april 2007 stopped Casodex. Now he has a PSA 0,07. Metasthasis are estable He continue without pain. The principal problem it the site effect of Zometa (ONJ).
I´ll try to learn as soon as possible about prostate. I would like to help other people in similar situation with my own experiencie.

Hola a todos. Es muy gratificante para mi encontrar un grupo en español de cancer de próstata avanzado. Mi marido hace tres años (tenía 42) fue diagnosticado de cáncer de próstata con metástasis oseas (PSA 290 y Gleason 9). Comenzó tramiento hormonal (Casodex + Zoladex) y Zometa.
En la actualidad, únicamente tiene como tratamiento Zoladez, y tiene un PSA de 0,03
Afortunadamente no tiene ningún tipo de dolor, aunque si están apareciendo algunos de los efectos secundarios de la medicación.
Aunque en internet encuentro muchos foros, blogs etc... de cáncer, la mayoría son tumores localizados. Ha sido para mi difícil encontrar un grupo de cancer avanzado. Gracias a facebook os he encontrado.
Espero poder compartir mi experiencia con vosotros y enriquecerme de la vuestra.

sorry i opened my email box today, donot worry at all every thing would be fine though.
no problem if its rising it's not that high limit dear. and yeah go ahead for teh next PSA. and this is not the end my dear , you can go for the cobalt radiation therapy even after wards, ok so donot hesitate in asking the next Qs. please.

its sad to hear that, the mets are gtting seeded.
so, God will take care of every thing. please take care of you in these timings,
yeah i think should continue with the chlorhexidine, i guess should look for the radiation as it sounds best in mets.

That is the last news: PSA is rising up, not so much (o,o4 in december to 0,11 in january). At the same time, he started to be sicky and with pains in schoulders, back and leg. Ganma after three year of the diagnostic is estable. After a long batery of test (RM of the craneum, gasthroscopy, revision by the urologist,......) doctor doesn´t know why he feel sicky. Next month again a new PSA. At the moment the pain is controlable with ibupropheno. Necrosis is controlated with clorhexidina.
Now we are a little more relaxed because january was like a mighmare, everyday in the hospital, doing test, waitting results.....
I´m afraid with the back pain and I have the sensation that we haven´t started the year in a good way.
