I saw your piece in the Chicago Tribune. I think you made some good points:

"Every man has the right to know if he has prostate cancer and then decide with his doctor what, if any, is the best course of action.

"This study lumps all men over 75 together rather than considering that some older men may run marathons or play golf every day and have a long life still ahead of them.
--------------------------

Sen. Arlen Spector is 76 and has had several cancers. A reporter recently asked the senator's oncologist why he is treating a man of Spector's age with chemo. The doc replied, "His body is that of a man 20 years younger".

"Agism" is the last socially acceptable prejudice. Just look at how John McCain is portrayed in the media as a bumbling fool if he makes the slightest misstep, and of course his age is a favorite subject of late-nite comedy. Just because he's a little over 70.

Vital members of the "Greatest Generation" who are enjoying their lives, like our new member Monte Matheson, are having the last laugh!

Our (and I mean, OUR ) Petition to Make Prostate Cancer a National Priority is nearing 9,000 signatures. Let's all get our friends and family to sign, so that we might make a cool 10,000 signatures by September/Prostate Cancer Month. Go to http://www.prostatecancerpetition.org and send everyone you know to this website.

Hi Skip. I shan't assume any connection between you joining this forum today and the issuance of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force prostate cancer guidelines this morning! :O)

When are we going to get to gether for a chat?

Skip,
Most of the guys I deal with have been treated so I can't help you there. As far as Zero, I'll help where I can because we need to end with PCa.
