- I was diagnosed with prostate cancer 7 years ago. While the prostate was successfully removed, the cells had metastasized. Instead of lamenting an indefinite prognosis, I decided to become a hospice volunteer and help others die. I learned how to die by learning how to live. I've written about my experiences in my latest book, Lessons for the Living: Stories of Forgiveness, Gratitude, and Courage at the End of LIfe. Living Joyfully with Prostate Cancer
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer 7 years ago. While the prostate was successfully removed, the cells had metastasized.
