Band of Brothers...

From my blog...

This week was significant in the prostate cancer world. An announcement was made here by Mike Scott that 8 major advocacy groups are teaming their efforts together. This is a result of those studies I talked about in my last blogsite post. Strangely, two very flawed reports resulted in a unity that has been sorely missed in prostate cancer groups. Many of you have heard of Relay for Life ~ one of the many great ways breast cancer advocacy groups raise research money and awarenes… Continue

Milestones ~ Part 2 as in two years ago...

On February 16, 2007 I underwent DaVinci robotic surgery to remove my prostate. It's hard to believe it's been two years. So much, I believe, cancer has changed my life. If you have not heard it before, you have now heard it here from me. The day your doctor says "you have cancer" your life will not ever be the same. I recanted this in my blog, but I wanted to write something original for the Infolink. I feel I am a part of this site so I thought it appropriate that I wrote it in article format.… Continue

Happy New Years!

From my blog...

Exactly one year ago today I posted about the changing years. About how 2007 was the most difficult in my life in the way I had to begin my attack against prostate cancer. I spoke of the wonderful things I had to be thankful for even though I had endured failed surgery, ADT drugs, IMRT radiation therapy and I was told by my doctors, that I will likely have to deal with this stupid cancer again, and that it was serious. But with hope still ahead, I posted this list of the good th… Continue

Free PSA tests at the Baseball Winter Meetings!

Starting today and through Thursday, Major and Minor League Baseball are holding the annual Winter Meetings here in Las Vegas. This event is in all the sports pages and one of the biggest events in Baseball outside of the games themselves. A couple months ago I was contacted by Ed Randall, through TNPCIL member Jack Robbins. Ed is a New York sports talk show host, sportscaster, and a New York Yankees historian. Ed is a prostate cancer survivor as well. And through his foundation ~ Ed Randall's B… Continue

Milestones...

From my blog site....

Well we are passing some of my cancer markers. It has officially been two years since cancer became such a huge part of my life. Over the next few months I will pass almost every critical mile marker in a life with cancer. They are not days I make a particular note of, except to say it brings back memories I have blocked out in some ways. In two years my life has changed so drastically I would need a book to describe this experience. I will note some of the markers as I wr… Continue

Tony: You will make a great chapter leader ... and I will scrape up the plane fare to LV and happily eat Yorkshire Pudding with you so long as I don't have to go near any casinos!

Hope your luck at the Rio keeps up and you get good test results in October! It is always frustrating not to be able to leave comments on your blog. Also, great picture of you and your son (presuming).

Hi Tony,

I'm new to this site. My sister in Romania is in fact the one who signed up first here. Mike suggested I should contact you since we live in the same city.
My father has metastatic prostate Ca. I wanted to contact the Nevada Cancer center to get the most up to date info on available treatments. I see that you are being seen there, so maybe you can let me know a point of contact to start off my research.

I hope you are doing well with everything. I saw your picture posing next to the wild horses. Is that by Cold Creek? I was there for the first time yesterday and today. I did the hike up to Bonanza Peak. It was awesome.
Later, I hope...
