Men under 50 or 55 often have concerns that are different from those over 65 or 70. Here's a place to talk about them. There's no age limit; indeed, it's helpful to get the older crowd's perspective on issues whose importance changes with age.

Hi Eric my husband will just be turning 50 next week and was diagnosed last Feb. He just had his prostate surgery yesterday and he was up walking today docs things it was succesful.Wont know pathology results for 2-6 weeks. go get a book called what men need to knw baout prostate cancer. Hes A world renowened urlogist and discusses alot of ins and outs of the whole thing. I thing that he is adamant about is not to base you decision on ED because after 3 yrs the stats are the same for all treatments some show up right away and others take longer. Were not sure about the ED thing the surgeon went wide nerves are still there but how functioning we dont know but we were prepared for that reality and will deal with that as it comes. Incontince is not suppose to be an issue very rare theysaid for somebody to be incontinent. do your reserach dont let the brachy guys fear monger you about the Ed thjing cause in the end theres is porably worse resuolt cause its dead tissue that no medicne or anything gunna help. I can tell you to that in my research the number one recommendation is sugery if yoour under 50 fro sure.the brachy guy told me that they did a few under 50 but not too many why is that then you have to ask. cut the cancer out then deal with the rest is the best bet

Hi Eric. It's great to have you. I really hope you can work with Lucy. And that one day I can come back to Kenya (I lived on Rusinga Island in 1981) and meet you and Lucy in person. Arnon
