Marta - how is your husband? Has he finished this round of chemo? How are his legs? Did you find out the source of the pain? I was just thinking about you today and thought I'd see how you are. Please stay in touch. If you'd like to talk, just let me know and we'll get in touch. We are here to help each other. Hope you have a wonderful July 4th with your family!

Hi Marta,
Thanks for your encouragement. I really can't imagine a PSA as high as 568!!! It must be so hard mentally to watch this climb!! I know it is a very special time to appreciate one another and enjoy life together, but sometimes it seems that we are both so on edge we miss the important stuff. Maybe in time that will get better. I am sure there are different stages of processing all of this - and will continue to change as his condition changes. I do want to make the most of the time we have together. Actually he tells everyone that he is living "The Bucket List" -- did you see that movie? We have traveled and will continue to travel and see as much of the world together as possible. Thanks again...........Patti

Hi Marta,
Dr. Krongrad told me you are a wonderful woman and that should start with you -- where are you on this road of PC? We are seeing my husband's oncologist in the morning -- they will likely want to start treatment.........are you going through this with your husband now?

Would appreciate any help or encouragement.............

I was reading through my mother's journal last night about this. When he received radiation for the prostate, they overshot and hit his hip bone. Radiation cuts off blood to the bone, so the ball in his hip joint was severly damaged. He had hip replacement about a year later when the pain became unbearable. The radiation also caused severe inflamation in his legs. They had to stop treatment twice because of this. I know radiation is much more refined these days than it was 15 years ago. But I would still have him checked just in case.
