About Me:
Rhonda Fine, PhD, ARNP, MSN is a Board-Certified Sex Therapist working with the Krongrad Institute for Minimally Invasive Prostate Surgery.

Dr. Fine is a Diplomate of The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists. She medically trained and licensed Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and is also a practicing EMDR Clinician. Early in her career she spent five years as a surgical ICU nurse and has a keen and practical appreciation for issues related to surgery.

She practices Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology as it relates to Human Sexuality, Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Issues of Co-Dependency, Marital Relationship Conflicts, Divorce and Separation Transition, Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, Stress Management and Life Style Modification.

Dr. Fine is uniquely qualified to treat both the biological and psychological aspects of Human Sexuality as it relates to Sexual Capacity, Sexual Motivation and Sexual Performance. In this capacity, Dr. Fine is a leader in the field of Clinical Sexology. Her philosophy is that Sexuality is a great human experience that is central to ones personal identity and overall well-being. Maintaining Sexual Health at any age depends as much on ones' mind as well as ones' physical ability. Each of us is unique, therefore our sexual capabilities change, dependent upon the realities that exist in our lives. Over a lifetime, we are often confronted with a variety of issues, which will affect ones sexuality. These include disability, illness, medication side effects, aging, stress, grief, emotional issues and relationship conflicts.

The goals of Sex Therapy are to realistically restore and rebalance ones' Sexual Health as it relates to Sexual Communication, Relationship Health, Self-Stimulation, Performance Anxiety, Self-Esteem, Hormone Related Sexual Imbalances, Emotional Habits, Aging and, both, Women's and Men's Sexual Health and Dysfunction. By addressing the root cause of symptoms, the process of regenerating Sexual Health can begin. There is a powerful mind/ body connection between Sexual Wellness and Health. A few of these benefits are: Strengthening of the Immune System, the Release of Physical and Mental Stress, Elevation of Mood, Binding Relationships and adding Zest to Life!

Times have changed and knowledge has increased thus causing a shift in psychological and medical paradigms. Now Sexual Wellness is an integral part of the model of Health and Longevity.

Dr. Fine has been involved in the health care field since 1979. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Miami and her graduate studies at Florida International University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She then went on to complete postgraduate studies at The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists. Dr. Fine worked as an adjunct Faculty member at Florida International University teaching Physical Assessment, Intensive Care and Gerontology. Presently, Dr. Fine is a Clinical Associate Professor at The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists. In addition, Dr. Fine has conducted research in regards to reversing the sexual side effects suffered as a result of the use of antidepressant medication.

Dr. Fine is an active member of: The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists, The American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists, EMDR International Association and The Broward Association of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.

Dr. Fine, My name is Jacob Snee. I met with Dr. K, last week and he said you would be working with him at his new location. I supply patients with VED's for ED treatments and I also speak at prostate cancer groups in FL in regards to prostate cancer/treatments/ED. He encouraged that I get in contact with you and perhaps we can sit down and talk next time I am in town seeing patients. I will be around from Sept 16th to Sept 19th in your region. Let me know if you have any time and I will see if I am away from my patient load then.

Hello, Rhonda, and thank you for your reply. It is not that I have questions of you at this time since I have spent countless hours in research and study of our insidious men's disease for the past 12 years. It is more that I like to keep in touch with others who have an interest in prostate cancer and can then have the opportunity to bounce concerns off them for their consideration and comment. In so doing, we both become better educated regarding prostate cancer and its treatment.

Rhonda,
Any suggestions for a post surgery patient of AK living in Denver who may want to seek some type of therapy for ED and the psychological affect this has caused me. I am presently single and although I am dating, and surprisingly enough, most of the women I have been intimate with say my ED is not a big deal to them, it sure is for me. I am not the way I was and I guess will never be. I know I am not alone with this issue regarding those of us patients who were sexually active pre-surgery and now we are sort of just expected to do without and act like nothing has happened.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Doug
