Profile

Have you been diagnosed with prostate cancer?
yes
What brings you to the New Prostate Cancer InfoLink social network?
RP in August, 2007 and watching PSA to determine in External Radiation is necessary. Very pleased to find a link to help me think through the possibilties.
Would you help us grow the network? Would you tell others about it?
yes
About Me:
I'm 63 and, except for the cancer thing in very good health. Recovery from surgery went well and I am back at work (clincial psychologist and non-profit treatment program founder/administrator). However, depending on my PSA values and need for radiation, I am seriously thinking of retiring. Post RP PSA levels: .02 at six weeks, .01 at months, 06 at seven months and .05 at seven months and two weeks. Surgeron and consulting Oncologist will consider radiation is values exceed .1 My next reading is scheduled for May. The Small tumor (G=3+3+6)had left the capsule so surgical margin was positive in lower rectal area. Lymph nodes and vesicals were negative.

Hi Spence,
You and I are on similar tracks: My RP was also in August 2007, and I'm also considering radiation. But our tracks aren't quite parallel, since post-op PSA started at 4.5 and has decreased to 2.0.

I'd like to add my voice to Arnon's in inviting you to the PSA Persists After RP group.

Hi Spencer,

Welcome. May I suggest you join the PSA Persists After Surgery group? That way we can enlist others to put in their opinions. We can also specifically ask Dr. Keisch to comment. If you want.

Welcome Spencer. Take your time. Look around. This site is a little different from places in healthcare cyberspace you may have "met" before.
