respect/thanks for/to Arnon Krongrad

sure
About Me:
I'm a gay man - work in the production end of theatre in NYC. Was diagnosed over a year ago and immediately had surgery - by Arnon Krongrad. It was easy, painless and not at all frightening. Tho' I wish I was one of the lucky ones for whom incontinence and impotence had returned right away. Now, am pretty much back to "normal."

Happy to participate and help in any way. Tho' short of making all this into a musical, I don't really know what I can do. But I'm here if anyone needs me.

I saw August: Osage County this week. How good was it? Put it this way: if this was a dinner theater I probably would have stopped eating, that's how good it was!

How's things?

Hey Barry, we're going moose hunting with Pat. Forget Patti Lupone. Bring on Russell Crowe! (you think Pat understood we're gonna make a musical and he'll be the hunter of the north woods?)

Barry. I am also a gay man... feeling like life will not be very worth living in some ways. It seems like as soon as I submit to surgery my life will be forever changed and... I know the only other choice is to let it go and suffer the consequences that will only be worse. How have you coped? Do you have a partner? If not how has your life continued? I realize life is not all about sex, yet for me a large part of it has been.

Hope the move is under control. Sorry I can't help you to unpack, but I have to go eat food with an oncologist! How's the script coming? :O)

Welcome. Through another network for Prostate patients I met Harold Goldfaden, (stage director for Evita) traveling show, actally met him when he came thru Tucson.
Altho not, gay, doesnt matter to me, I have a strange sense of humor and can see anything through the funny side. I often said to myself as my wife and I have spent 3 years trying shots, now drugs, etc for our romance life back there should be a one act play called "Sex after Sixty" and prostate surgery. With a heterorelatiship by the time the man takes the pill, the womans uses her lube, try to set the mood everyone forgets what the outcome was supposed to be. Guess that's life, maybe I should turn this one over to Mel Brooks.
Anyway I am also one Dr. K's patients. I am a dental surgeon and a coward but was amazed at the painless recovery of the surgical procedure. But then we can even do minimally invasive dental implant surg which is painless also.
Welcome to the club even if membership is not particulary volountary. Yu can see post surgery experience has its ups and downs, especially downs, pardon the pun

Steve Sondheim, absolutely. I've produced revivals of several of his shows. Elbows? Philip Roth, not so much. Not that he's not a terrific writer. -- As for capitalizing future shows, I was hoping all of you already had your checkbooks out!

That's too weird. At just about the time you were making your post, I was sending an e-mail to someone suggesting that we collaborate on a few songs:
- "Ballad of the Spongy Prostate"
- "Catheter-Bag Polka"
- "Post-Prostatectomy Blues"

So, in NYC you'll be rubbing elbows with Stephen Sondheim and Philip Roth, right? As for production money, what's Giuliani gonna do with all those leftover campaign funds?
