Profile

Have you been diagnosed with prostate cancer?
no
What brings you to the New Prostate Cancer InfoLink social network?
Dr Arnon and I spent 10 or so days out in the Australian bush with his wife, his daughter and my daughter. So - we almost solved the worlds problems out there -- so why not see what others think. My father has Prostrate Cancer so any news can help - I have four brothers and I guess at least one of us will win the lottery and get it - so sure I want to hear about it from others ..... if a croc doesnt get me in the meantime..
Would you help us grow the network? Would you tell others about it?
Sure
About Me:
Not much to say --- I am a Wildlife Guide in Australia and spend a lot of time dodging cars and traffic to get to an airport so I can fly to Darwin and hang out in safety with crocs, snakes and other wonderful critters.

Mike, checked into the publishing. The editor I mentioned has retired and the publishing companies were subject specific. But I checked into the publishers of other similar books, here's some info if you need it:
Blue Dolphin Publishing - in CA www.bluedolphinpublishing.com
De Capo Press -NY www.dacapopress.com or you can e-mail them at pereusbooks.com
Menasha Ridge Press - AL www.menasharidge.com - they specialize in outdoor adventure
For self publishing:
www.outskirts.com - full service self publishing, marketing available
Good basic info: www.ehow.com/how_107987_self-publish-book.html
www.u-publish.com and the others mentioned on the books and blogs group.
Good luck - let us know once it's published. I'd like a copy.

Mike, I will gladly help you find a publisher. On one condition: you share the secrets of fine bush dining!

Breakfast is served, Camp Keighley, Never Never, Northern Territory. Yum!

Seriously, I'd suggest you post in Books and Blogs. There's a bunch of people in there who are writers. Maybe they can help.

As a separate matter, one of my good friends is a published writer of documentary and fiction. He knows this business well. Tell me more and tell me how I can help you. Do you want me to put you in touch with him?

Love the beer ad ... still have not been approached by the company.
HOWEVER, my book Why Kangaroos Go Boing Boing --Tales of an Outback Guide is finished !! and we are now looking for a publisher in the US...
If you like I could send a few sneak chapters -- or at least the synopsis of the book.

Question: would the Keighley boys all want to join? And bring along their father, who has been diagnosed?

You'd be the first 5-brother herd who have not been diagnosed and who have join our unique network. You'd have the wise counsel of every one here and the content and videos on the main site.

You'd all fit very well into the Primary Issues group, where we'll discuss individual risk, family history, early detection, and related matters. To have you online would permit an unprecedented case study of family dynamics and would give the Keighley boys a resource unlike any that ever been had by sons of men facing prostate cancer as a group. Think about it.

Mike, it's great to meet you. I'm based in Adelaide. I enjoyed exploring your website - excellent! I've just come back from a 6 day part-supported treck in the Tarkine - Tasmania's vast old-growth rain-forest wilderness area. It was so beautiful. Doing that all the time - you have found a wonderful life!

Mike - welcome to the network. Sounds like you lead a very interesting life. We'll pray you're NOT the one to "win the lottery"! Glad to have you onboard.
