Richard - Great post in the ED discussion. Love your attitude, my friend! Together I truly believe we can make a difference in this fight against PC!

Great post Richard,
I am now posting on your page and we can have a public non-topic discussion here. So basically, you have a Forum option where you name a topic, you have this page where we can chat, and we have a private message similar to email (I just sent you one).

Note,
If you just type a comment here, then this all stays here. But if you clicke my name above, then comment, it will "fragment" the conversation over two pages. So earlier when I posted to Dale, you had to look at his page to see what I said.

Kinda confusing, but like Mike said in theh forum, give it a day or so and it's actually kinda neat. I also think the groups are a very cool thing too. Also make sure you follow the site blog every day.

I completed my radiation treatment on 7/24/08. They tell me it will be 3 years, one year after stoping the 2 years of hormone therapy, before we really get a PSA that is indicative of much. I know the emotions of hormone therapy but I also know the emotions of knowing a friend who I met after diagnosis has sent me an email that brings tears. He stated he is now in bed most of the time and does not want phone calls or emails. I know the blessing of getting another email from another PCa person who stated my website gave him hope at a time when he was down. I feel at a lose when I think how little I seem able to accomplish in the fight against this dreaded disease we face.

After 24 IMRT sessions new CT/MRI indicate the lymph node that was a concern for outside the prostate cancer is no longer visable. I will start a new phase of treatment on Tuesday with 17 sessions of PBT. I will continue on ADT for 2 years.

Thnanks for the welcome. I thought I sent a reply to Pete but don't see it. I am currenly only in my 3rd week of IMRT and started Lupron and Casodex on May 2nd. This week and next of IMRT then 4+ weeks of PBRT. Not sure how long the ADT will be. So far a few slight night time hot flashes I think. Hard to tell with this heat in Jacksonville.

Ditto to the below. I looked at your site. Nice work. You may also want to see the blog entry about proton beam radiation and the comments by Drs. Glode and Sandler. You may also have interest in the story of Pete Gannon, who had Gleason 10 and is here six years later to talk about it.

Welcome to the network, Richard.

I see from your website that you were diagnosed less than six months ago, in January, and you've already had proton therapy and started on ADT. Quite a journey.

You might consider joining the Hormone Suppression group and sharing your concerns and experiences:
